Intimacy Ropes: Beginner´s Shibari
Workshop
12.4.25
Saturday
13:00-15:00
Aidshilfe DG
A friendly approach to Shibari for beginners, focused on enjoying the interaction as we build a hug with ropes that hold the body and connect our souls. Safety, consent, communication and after-care will establish the framework to explore the language of ropes, aiming to create an intimate space. Body mobilisation and rope handling will be our tools to start the dance to create a space releasing our minds and flow together to a shared state of presence, closeness and connection we define as intimacy. The knots and frictions will become just punctuations in the grammar of rope passages that write emotions in the skin and heart of the partner. After this hands-on workshop, participants will be able to enjoy rope play together with confidence.
Workshop will be held in ENGLISH
TICKETS: This workshop is specifically designed for pairs to participate together and share the experience as a duo. To ensure that everyone can fully engage in the exercises and interactions, we kindly ask that you attend with a partner. For this reason, tickets for this workshop can only be purchased as a duo ticket via the Eventjet Ticket Shop. It is not possible to register as an individual participant. Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to welcoming you both!
BRING ALONG: For your comfort, we recommend bringing a yoga mat and a blanket if you’d like extra warmth or support. There will be an opportunity to use ropes provided by the facilitator during the workshop. However, as these are only available in limited quantities, we kindly ask you to bring your own if you have any at home: please bring 1 to 3 natural fiber jute or hemp ropes (5-6mm, 7-9m). Cotton may also work, but synthetic ropes are not recommended. Wear comfortable clothing such as leggings or a yoga outfit—please note that nudity is not part of this session. Avoid metallic arch bras (sports bras are fine). If you’d like, bring paper and a pen to take notes, but this is optional.
Facilitator CV: Devolar started his rope journey in 2014 and has been teaching since 2018 in private lessons and workshops focusing on the how and the why before the what. Having performed in big events as Desade in Spain and PFFV Gala in Vienna, explores the artistic side of ropes blending the intimate with the spectacular to create narratives that appeal to broader audiences.
Izumi is a "real-life" shibari bottom who begun sharing her experience in ropes at workshops from the tied person perspective in classes and workshops with her partner Devolar.
Both offer an approach aimed to real life experiences for couples and playpartners that want to discover and enjoy ropes without getting trapped on technique
Accessibility: Auditory capacity and basic hand coordination are required; unfortunately, the venue is not wheelchair accessible.
